Hi team,

This email initially got sent to everyones junk. I can't be bothered configuring an email provider so it doesn't; so I'm just resending it so if it was cleared from your junk it's now closer to the top.

I've also attached a mud map because Arianne wanted one and I love her. In summary though, it's in the big marquee; pretty hard to miss.

location We’ll be around Bolganup homestead for the whole weekend, so hopefully you’ve all got some accommodation within walking distance. We would love for you to be bumming around with us for most of the weekend, so mosey in anytime you’re free — there’s a pool table and table tennis. Be warned: you may get roped into some jobs.

connectivity Cellular is pretty trash in the Porongurups, so plan accordingly — if you need to reach us, text Dad (Peter) on 0455 239 229. We’re not in a tax bracket to afford Telstra. Otherwise, the homestead is the meeting place.

weather It’s down south in very early spring; it is going to be cold and might be wet. We’ve prepped for all weather so it’ll be great regardless — but be prepared yourself (bring an umbrella).

food We normally just get our groceries from IGA as we swing through Mount Barker (~20 mins from the Porongurups), but we don’t run your life so do whatever you want. There are the Porongurup Tea Rooms, Karribank and other assorted wineries around if you want some lunch or breaky. If you get stuck, Albany is only 45 mins away.

DRESS CODE — SAT NIGHT

Colourful cocktail with farm footwear. For the blokes, think suit jackets or collared shirts with ties. For the ladies, knee-length to midi dresses.

It’s going to be cold and we’ll be outdoors. It could be muddy — so wear appropriate shoes. Kingsley has asked for no high heels indoors, but if you even make it to the doorway wearing stilettos we’ll be impressed.

No solid burgundy — that’s what the bridesmaids are in.

from 3pm

Rock up. Feel free to poke your heads in from then. We’ll be tying up the last loose ends but should be pretty cruisy.

6pm

Dinner. BYO meat and drinks — we’ll have some salads. Let us know if you’re planning to be there so we have a rough idea of numbers.

~9:30pm

Sleep. We’re staying on Kathleen and Kingsley’s beautiful family property and they’ll be there the whole weekend. They’ve been super accommodating with everything, so we also want to respect their peace and quiet.

> SATURDAY

8am

“Porongurups Park Run”. A 5km route set up for you to walk or run, with some fruit at the end. We’ll probably walk across the road to Karribank for a coffee after. Start line — I’m going to say the Tea Rooms (start of the driveway), but my job is to find a route the day before, so TBD.

10am–3:30pm

Your choice. We’ll be prepping for the reception. Go for a hike or check out some of the wineries nearby — or get your hands dirty and help us if you want.

4:30pm

Reception starts. Start rocking up from here.

5:15pm

Welcome speech. You’re late if you haven’t rocked up by then.

~6:30pm

Dinner.

Coffee. There are two options. It’s a small country “town” — you’ll find us.

Clean up. If you’re feeling up to it, a few extra hands will make light work of it.

Lunch at Plantagenet Hotel. — if you’re still around. It's in Mt Barker, so on the way home.

If you’re hanging around, great — so are we. I’m sure we’ll organise something more on the weekend.

ceremony We just want to party with you all, so don't expect one.

gift registry We aren’t really looking for this — your presence is our gift. Due to demand though, we will have a wishing well for white goods for our future home (we have nothing except a microwave). So if you would like to give anything, feel free to pop an envelope or card in there. We encourage you to list what white good you’d like to put it towards, so we have an excuse to write your name on it for you to point at when you stay with us.

parking If you’re not staying within walking distance, that’s a bit lame. On the night, try parking on the driveway as you first pull into the homestead — if you can see the marquee opening you’re probs too close (the sunset will be prettier not over your cars).

photos Take them! We have got a mate taking some, but we'd love to see it from your eyes. We can do an AirDrop or (if you have bad phone taste) a Google Photos transfer on Sunday. I’ll probs also share some albums for everyone to add to after.
